What does merging PDF files do?

Merging joins the pages of two or more separate PDF documents into one file while preserving the original text, images, and layout of each. The files are appended one after another in the order you add them, so a three-page report followed by a two-page appendix becomes a single continuous five-page PDF. Pages are copied rather than re-encoded, so the quality of every page stays identical to the source document.

When is combining PDFs useful?

  • Bundling an invoice, receipt, and order confirmation into one file to email or archive.
  • Assembling scanned pages that were saved as individual PDFs into a single document.
  • Joining chapters, reports, or contracts before printing or sharing them.
  • Attaching a cover letter to a CV or application as one PDF.
  • Consolidating statements or records for bookkeeping and tax filing.

How to merge PDFs with this tool

Select up to 5 PDF files using the numbered upload slots, then click Merge PDF files. The tool combines them in the order they appear — slot 1 first, then 2, 3, and so on — and returns a single PDF you can download right away. Files are processed on the server purely to perform the merge and are deleted automatically afterwards; they are never stored or shared.

Frequently asked questions

Is this PDF merger free to use?

Yes. The tool is completely free with no account, subscription, or software installation required — just upload your PDFs and download the merged file.

How many PDF files can I merge at once?

You can combine up to five PDF files in a single merge. To join more, merge them in batches and then merge the resulting files together.

In what order will the pages appear in the merged PDF?

The files are joined in the order you add them. The document in the first slot comes first, followed by the second, third, and so on.

Will merging reduce the quality of my PDFs?

No. The pages are copied as they are, with no re-compression, so all text, images, and formatting remain identical to the original files.

What happens to my uploaded files?

Your files are processed on the server only to create the merged PDF, then deleted automatically. They are not stored, shared, or used for any other purpose.
