Options

Most music is recorded at the standard 440 Hz — only change this if your file was tuned to a different pitch.

Note: You can use the free online Music Frequency Changer if you want to convert your music to non-standard frequencies.

Two different algorithms are provided - a time-based and a frequency-based (FFT). Generally Algorithm 1 yields better results, but depending on the input music also Algorithm 2 can sound better.

What is 417Hz?

417Hz is one of the so-called solfeggio frequencies, a set of tones referenced in certain spiritual and alternative-wellness traditions. Standard modern music is tuned to 440Hz (concert pitch, ISO 16), meaning the note A4 vibrates at 440 cycles per second. Re-tuning to 417Hz lowers the overall pitch of a recording by roughly 38 cents — just under half a semitone — giving it a noticeably warmer, slightly darker quality.

Claims that 417Hz promotes healing, facilitates change, or carries transcendental properties are anecdotal and not supported by scientific evidence. The audible difference is real; any perceived wellbeing effect is subjective and should not be taken as a health claim.

Why convert music to 417Hz?

  • Sound exploration: hear how familiar recordings feel at a different fundamental tuning.
  • Meditation and relaxation content: creators producing ambient or mindfulness audio sometimes prefer alternative solfeggio tunings as an aesthetic choice.
  • Comparison with other solfeggio tones: 417Hz sits between 396Hz and 432Hz, making it easy to A/B test different tunings on the same source file.
  • Personal preference: some listeners simply find the slightly lower pitch more pleasing or easier to listen to for extended periods.

Supported input formats

The converter accepts the most common audio formats, including MP3, WAV, FLAC, OGG, AAC, M4A, WMA, AIFF, OPUS, RA and more. The output is delivered in the same format as your upload unless you choose otherwise. No account or payment is needed to use the tool.

Frequently asked questions

Is this 417Hz converter free to use?

Yes, the tool is completely free. No account, subscription, or payment is required. Simply upload your file, convert, and download.

What happens to my uploaded audio file?

Your file is processed on the server solely to perform the frequency conversion and is then deleted automatically. It is not stored, shared, or used for any other purpose.

Does re-tuning to 417Hz change the tempo of my music?

No. The converter shifts the pitch of the audio without altering its playback speed, so the duration and rhythm of your track remain exactly the same.

Is there a scientific basis for the health benefits of 417Hz?

No. Claims about solfeggio frequencies improving wellbeing or having healing properties are anecdotal and not supported by peer-reviewed scientific research. The tool simply re-tunes your audio as an audio processing operation.

Which output format will I get after conversion?

By default the output format matches your uploaded file. You can also select a different audio format before starting the conversion if you need to change it.
